  2. Oliver flushed and shrugged. "You made me nervous, I was too scared to say anything, that was all." It was true, there wasn't much else to say about it. He wished he had been as confident immediately as he was now, but it had not been so. He smiled and squeezed her hand. "Every day I share with you is the happiest of my life." He said, truthfully. He was glad for that, and he hoped that meant he would be happy for the rest of his life. But he wasn't at the right spot yet. He continued to lead her through the museum, until they got to a fountain where he paused. "Lilith, every day truly has been the best day of my life, every since I got together the courage to stop looking and say hello, and...I was wondering." He dropped to one knee and held out the little box, opening it to reveal the special ring he had gotten made specially for her. "Would you do me the great honor of making every day for the rest of my life the best day that I've ever had? Will you marry me, Lilith Nesbitt?"
  3. Oliver squeezed her hand and grinned, it was so true, he ran into things first, but this one he was sure about. He'd been at this for long enough, looking at her with longing eyes. He'd spent his years at the Gryffindor table sitting so he could see her. "You know you wouldn't have me any other way, my cautious, colorful love." He said happily "If only you could read my mind love, then you would know it was nothing but the truth. I would look for you every time I came into the Great Hall and sit so that I could see you, hoping beyond hope that maybe, just maybe, that I would have a chance to bump into you and say hello. The day it finally happened was the third happiest day of my life. Second happiest being the day you said you'd go to Hogsmeade, and first happiest being the day you said you'd be my girlfriend." He was hoping, of course, that today would take first place, that she would agree to be his wife, but she didn't know that yet. He smiled at her little jibe and led her on into the museum to walk through the walls of history and nature. "I am remarkably confident that if anyone can teach me, it will be you. After all, you taught me what it was to fall in love, did you not? You captured me so thoroughly that I haven't been able to look away since the moment you sat on that stool almost seven years ago." He smiled at her, sincerity in ever crinkle around his twinkling eyes.
  4. Oliver smiled down at her and laughed. "Perhaps so, my love, but I have never been one to slow down when I could full on steam ahead. Especially when I know what I want. And you have always been what I want. From the moment you stepped up to be sorted I wanted to know who the lovely girl with the sad, dark eyes was. I'm just lucky I get to know who she is better than anyone. For the rest of my life He added to himself, hopefully, but he had not yet asked. He still had to do the asking. Oliver had never been more nervous for something to do with Lilith in his life, except maybe their first date. But even that was nothing compared to this. He was terrified she would run from him. That was part of why he had so carefully planned it. Because if she did say no and run away, he needed to be able to lick his wounds and hide. When he pulled her out of the dip, her breathless look gave him a little hope that maybe she would say yes though. Taking her hand, he smiled, kissing it gently and tucking it into his arm, opening the door and walking in, his own heart beating hard. He had planned this day very thoroughly and just hoped she was going to say yes. "I just hope you are ready to teach me, my fair Ravenclaw beauty, for I know many things, but would be lost without you."

  6. Oliver smiled down at her, and chuckled. "It's okay, love, I know you are. I am too, just slow down and enjoy it. That's the fun about vacation. We don't have to rush. We've got plenty of time." She rolled up on her tiptoes to peck his cheek and he grinned, his cheeks dimpling mischievously, wrapping an arm around her slim waist and moving her into a dip with ease. She was petite and he was strong. Leaning over her, he spoke in a dashing, over-dramatic voice, "Ah, but in such a romantic place, how can I not kiss the fair maiden more thoroughly? Surely some handsome man would try to come and fight you away from me if I did not!" And he leaned down and kissed her thoroughly, putting every bit of passion and love he felt for her into the kiss. He'd made sure to lay a thorough fake trail for where they were going, to the point that at least five decoy Oliver's and Lilith's were running around the world doing fun things, and another pair in London, living their daily lives. The vultures, as Lily called them, would be furious when they collected their weeks findings and discovered them to be useless. Setting her to rights, he smiled at her, winding her arm through his, and kissing her hand softly. "Shall we, dearest apple of my eye?"
  7. Oliver was glad he'd convinced her to take a vacation. The first day and a half, he'd made her just stay by the pool. Just lounge. Nothing planned, no books, because she would have brought books for work, not books for pleasure. And even if she had brought novels or something, they probably would have been her books for work bewitched to look like novels. She was so smart like that, and it was part of why he loved her. After lunch, though, he'd agreed to go to their first museum. He also had a museum planned for tomorrow, and the next day. And the next he had a nature hike. With some massages and local muggle traditional cuisine and culture planned in, as well as other wonderful things. All to enjoy and help her relax. Oliver was a Gryffindor in school, yes, but his mother had not only been a Ravenclaw, but a muggleborn. He'd grown up experiencing holidays with all different kinds of museums and adventures. While his father made them train quidditch, Penelope had taken them to history museums, science museums, nature hikes, and Oliver Jr. had loved it. And so he was using his upbringing to his advantage. The last day, he was going to propose. Lilith didn't know, but he'd been planning this since their trip to the ring shop in Diagon Alley that day. She was pulling him up the stairs excitedly and he was laughing, walking quickly, his long legs matching her strides. "I'm hurrying, Lily. I'm excited too, I like museums."
